FAQ:

  • HOW DOES NOUVEAU LVL WORK?

LVL straightens your natural eyelashes at the root, it created the effect of longer, lifted lashes, unlike a traditional last perm. The LVL treatment will last for 6-8 weeks. The results are immediate, plus the added lash ting creates a mascara-type effect so you're ready to go!

  • DO I NEED A PATCH TEST?

A patch test is necessary, as the treatment is performed around such a delicate eye area; so you will need to patch test your skin with various chemicals and dyes 48 prior to your appointment.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The treatment will take 45-60 minutes.

  • HOW LONG DOES LVL LAST?

Your natural lashes will promote the benefit of LVL for up to 6-8 weeks. Little maintenance is required once you've had the treatment.

  • WHAT DOES LVL LOOK LIKE?

  • CAN I HAVE NOUVEAU LVL LASHES?

Most people can, I'm sorry to who applies to the below! (Better to be safe than sorry)

*This is not medical advice, please seek professional medical advice as soon as possible if any of these apply to you.

  • Pregnant ladies:

It is recommended not to have eyelash extensions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

In rare cases, allergic reactions happen and you may be unable to take certain medications, eg antibiotics.

The treatment also requires you to lie down for 1 hour which may be uncomfortable for some.

  • Eye Surgery:

Please wait 6 months after surgery as the eye will be sensitive after treatment and will need time to heal.

  • Microblading or Tattooing:

Please wait at least 1 month if you have had your eyebrows microbladed or tattooed.

When applying your LVL, materials will touch your eyebrows and may be uncomfortable for you.

Please check with your practitioner if you're unsure.

  • Blepharitis (dry & flaky eyelids):

This can be caused if the eyelid has not been cleansed properly or poor eyelash extensions hygiene. Always ensure the correct aftercare is followed to prevent blepharitis. Please read here for more aftercare advice.

  • Eczema:

Most clients know what triggers their eczema and in some cases, clients can have Nouveau LVL. Please note that the treatment contains chemicals & dyes, which may cause sensitivity and flare-ups to those suffering from eczema.

  • Eye infection or Flu:

Everything is sanitized at all stages of the treatment, however, please check with your doctor to see if everything has cleared up and is non-contagious to avoid bacteria spreading.

  • Very Damaged Eyelashes:

In some cases, your eyelashes may be damaged due to previous lash treatment, e.g. the chemicals from previous LVL were left on too long, poor lash extension application.

At the start of your lash consultation, I will assess the condition of your lashes and discuss the options with you.

In rare cases where eyelashes are very damaged, I will not be able to perform LVL treatment as this will cause permanent eyelash loss and it is best to let your lashes recover and grow healthy.

If you have further questions please contact me or we can discuss on the day of your treatment.

  • IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Not at all! Many clients have commented on how relaxing and gentle the treatment is, and some have even fallen asleep! It's a perfect excuse for a nap!

  • CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP WITH NOUVEAU LVL LASHES?

Yes, but please avoid waterproof mascara, as it can be harsh and weaken the lift and tint

All eye make-up (especially mascara) must be removed thoroughly before your appointment.
