FAQ:

-
WHAT ARE JAPANESE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

This semi-permanent lash application uses handcrafted and tapered lashes to create a natural and effortless look. The technique is non-damaging to lashes and typically last 3-6 weeks.

-
DO I NEED A PATCH TEST?

A patch test isn't necessary, however, you won't be able to have this treatment if you have had previous reactions with eyelash extensions or if you have allergies to cyanoacrylate - a chemical bond present in all eyelash extension glues.

-
CAN I HAVE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Most people can, I'm sorry to who applies to the below! (Better to be safe than sorry)
This is not medical advice, please seek professional medical advice as soon as possible if any of these apply to you.

-
Pregnant ladies:

It is recommended not to have eyelash extensions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
In rare cases, allergic reactions happen and you may be unable to take certain medications, eg antibiotics.
The treatment also requires you to lie down for a couple of hours which may be uncomfortable for some.
-
Eye Surgery:

Please wait 6 months after surgery as the eye will be sensitive after treatment and will need time to heal.
-
Microblading or Tattooing:

Please wait at least 1 month if you have had your eyebrows microbladed or tattooed.
When applying your extensions, materials will touch your eyebrows and may be uncomfortable for you.
Please check with your practitioner if you're unsure.
-
Blepharitis (dry & flaky eyelids):

This can be caused if the eyelid has not been cleansed properly or poor eyelash extensions hygiene. Always ensure the correct aftercare is followed to prevent blepharitis. Please read here for more aftercare advice.
-
Ezcema:

Most clients know what triggers their eczema and in some cases, clients can have eyelash extensions. Please note that eyelash glues contain Cyanacrolate, which may cause sensitivity and flare-ups to those suffering from eczema.
-
Eye infection or Flu:

Everything is sanitized at all stages of the treatment, however, please check with your doctor to see if everything has cleared up and is non-contagious to avoid bacteria spreading.
-
Very Damaged Eyelashes:

In some cases your eyelashes may be damaged due to previous lash treatment, e.g. the lashes were too heavy, poor glue application.
At the start of your lash consultation, I will assess the condition of your lashes and discuss the options with you.
In rare cases where eyelashes are very damaged, I will not be able to apply new lashes as this will cause permanent eyelash loss and it is best to let your lashes recover and grow healthy.

If you have further questions please contact me or we can discuss on the day of your treatment.

-
CAN YOU APPLY YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS TO MY CURRENT SET?

Unfortunately no, sorry ladies! Due to the different types of extensions and glues on the market, it would be difficult to create a beautiful set, as it will look uneven. It is best to remove your previous lashes and re-apply.

-
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Not at all! Many clients have commented on how relaxing and gentle the treatment is, and some have even fallen asleep! It's a perfect excuse for a nap!

-
CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Yes, but please avoid mascara and use an oil-free cleanser to remove makeup, as it will damage the extensions and cause them to shed faster.

All eye make-up (especially mascara) must be removed thoroughly before your appointment.
